Welcome to the William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup
Sea Scouts from around the world are heading to the United States Coast Guard Academy in scenic New London, Connecticut, USA, the host for the Fifth Biennial William I. Koch International Sea Scout Cup, August 1-7, 2010. This now famous youth sailing regatta is open to young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21 who are actively registered in the Sea Scout program. The six-day event will be held at the Coast Guard Academy's world class Sailing Center. Teams from the United States and twenty countries will test their seamanship and leadership skills as they sail Vanguard 420's.
Come join the fun. Scouts will get a chance to meet some of the world's premier sailors and learn tips from several top collegiate sailing coaches. Prizes will be awarded for camaraderie, sportsmanship, and, of course, sailing. Winning sailors earn the right to have their names permanently engraved on one of youth sailing's top prizes - the William I. Koch Sea Scout Cup. So if you want action and adventure on the high seas - while making a little history, then here is your chance!
You can attend this event for one week for a total cost $180 plus the cost of your transport to the Academy. This fee includes a housing deposit of $25 which will be refunded upon departure.
All persons attending the Koch Sea Scout Cup must pre register on line. Once you have been accepted you will report to Connecticut College for the on site registration.
The on site registration for the Koch Sea Scout Cup will take place at Connecticut College 270 Mohegan Ave New London, Ct 06320 at Morrison House which is # 14 on the map of the campus.
REPORT FOR REGISTRATION ON AUGUST 1ST, SUNDAY TO CONNECTICUT COLLEGE BETWEEN 1200 AND 1700 HOURS. DO NOT GO TO THE US COAST GUARD ACADEMY.
