“Kaja is from Aarhus C, East Jutland, Denmark and is a member of Sea Scout Ship Stifinderne (Troppen) of the Aarhus Council. She has been active in scouting for 7 years and has earned the rank of Boat leader.
Scouting: Participated in several international boating jamborees and trips, having handled difficult situations, is a leader and a mentor for younger children who wishes to learn scouting and sailing, having proficiency certificate in navigating and operating small crafts.
Academics: Been moved up one grade from 8th to 9th grade because of academic and personal prowess.
Community service: Plays the trumpet for church at special occasions
She is open minded, and participate, lending a hand where ever she can, and constantly using her curiosity to learn more.
She thinks the Koch Cup will offer a cultural exchange and the opportunity to gain new friends, and she would like to offer up her own experiences, as well as learning from others. For her it is about the community, having fun, and learning both about scouting, racing and challenging myself.
She has been racing for 7+ years. Sea scouts in Denmark do not participate in sanctioned sailing races, but Kaja and her team mate have tried it several times in several boat types.
